On the 27th we celebrated James' first birthday and Ryan's 32nd! James has many fun new toys to play with. And Ryan got a chance to use his new smoker for the party. We had lots of fun and are grateful to all our friends who attended. It's not political it's just hilarious...

Welcome to our new blog!

A while ago, Ryan and I decided to delete all of our social media accounts in an attempt to live more in the real world and less in a virtual one. I can't with any honesty say that we actually got completely away from the digital enslavement which is so prevalent in this modern day, but we have lived through quite a lot in the real world since then. Most significantly, Ryan and I got married, honeymooned in Orlando, had a beautiful baby boy, James, and had him baptized in the Orthodox Church. We've had so much to keep us busy... who needs internet distractions? I have zero regrets in removing myself from the cesspool that is Facebook, but I do miss having an easy way to share pictures and news of all these important events. So here we are with our new blog - Damon Family News. Nothing overly original or interesting, just sharing our family life with our loved ones. Welcome!

January update

James just turned seven months old at the end of January. He has developed so much this month; it's amazing! On Christmas, he was just starting to crawl, but, except for rolling over and sitting up, was mostly stationary. Now he's mastered crawling as well as pulling himself up into a standing position on any nearby objects. He even walks with a little hand holding help for balance. With the Christmas tree gone, we've rearranged the living room to give him more space to play on the floor. James also loves playing with his toothbrush with Daddy. Though his teeth still haven't come through yet... They are so very close and he's chewing on everything he can get his hands on. We're continuing to feed him different pureed foods. He takes the loaded spoon from us to feed himself. And then, of course, teeths on it and doesn't want to give it back. He has great control over it though. His hand coordination is getting really good in other ways too- he's starting
